1.      POSITION VACANT:         Education Organizer, Total Vacant Position-  16 (Sixteen)
2.      LOCATION:                       Bihar State (Kishanganj, Katihar, Jamui), West Bengal State (Birbhum, Murshidabad, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, Malda, Howrah).
3.      ORGANISATION BACKGROUND:
Bandhan-Konnagar, a non-profit organization registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act 1961, was established in 2001, with a vision to alleviate poverty and empower women. The organization is committed to holistic community transformation through various development programs focusing on health, education, livelihood promotion, skill development, climate action, and financial literacy.
The Bandhan Education Program (BEP) aims to provide quality education and holistic development for children in underprivileged communities. Bandhan Education Centers (BECs) cater to children aged 5 to 7+ in remote and rural areas, addressing challenges such as irregular attendance and weak academic performance. BECs prioritize quality primary education, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 4. BEP is an effective program aimed at enhancing the age-specific learning levels of children through the establishment of Bandhan Education Centers. Adopting a unique, low-cost, innovative model, BEP ensures that children from deprived families have access to quality education in BECs.

4.      JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Education Organizer, the role and responsibilities include;
Ensure Learning Outcomes: Coordinate the establishment of Bandhan Education Centers (BECs) and ensure that learning outcomes are met. Collaborate with parents to determine flexible timings for BECs, prioritize child-centered and joyful teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes.
Development of Teaching-Learning Materials: Oversee the development of study materials tailored to the age and grade of children in BECs, ensuring they are in regional languages and align with curriculum guidelines provided by respective State Governments.
Evaluation of Teaching & Learning: Continuously evaluate Bandhan’s Education Program, including Education Facilitators and Students, to maintain quality education delivery and identify areas for improvement.
Supervision and Monitoring: Conduct regular supervision visits to each education center, at least 1-2 times a week. Monitor various aspects such as student and teacher attendance, quality of education in classrooms, student participation levels, and teacher-student relationships.
Meet with community people and advocacy: Organize and conduct surveys covering all children aged between 5 and 7+ years in each village. Conduct direct visits to households to collect student data and facilitate face-to-face meetings with guardians and selected teachers.
5.      QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
 
Qualification:
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a reputable institution and/or university, preferably in the field of education such as BA Hons Education, Social Work, Rural Development, and B.Ed.
 
Experience:
The preference will be given to candidates with experience working in the rural education system.
6.      ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Should be motivated to work in villages, particularly with deprived sections.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Hindi for Bihar location, and Bengali for West Bengal location, is required.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural/multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively in such a team.
  • Willingness to travel extensively in rural areas is essential
7.      COMPENSATION OFFERED:  The remuneration package ranges from INR 14,000 to 18,000 per month. Additionally, each Education Organizer (EO) will receive office accommodation and other facilities at their assigned branch.
8.      Age Limit: 23-32 years
