Mission and objectives

UNDP supports strategic capacity development initiatives to promote inclusive growth and sustainable human development. Together with national, regional and local authorities, civil societies, private sector, UNDP strives to support Ukraine in its efforts to eliminate poverty, develop people’s capacity, achieve equitable results, sustain the environment, and advance democratic governance. UNDP is in line with 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to achieve national strategic capacity development.

Context

This assignment is part of the UNDP's project to strengthen Ukraine's government system for crisis management and early recovery and ensure sustainability, effectiveness, and transparency in crisis and emergency coordination. Additionally, the project aims to support to local communities to establish a swift, effective, inclusive and accountable process for recovery and reconstruction of critical infrastructure for effective service delivery to citizens.

Task description

● Provide recommendations on preparation for the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin, in collaboration with international partners, donors, and civil society, to the Ministry for Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine (hereafter referred to as the Ministry). ● Provide expert support to the Ministry to formulate an intricate blueprint for the design of a comprehensive training regimen tailored to communities, aimed at meticulously preparing them for active participation in the forthcoming URC event. ● Conduct research and analysis, process data, and elaborate on necessary documentation (concept notes, policy proposals, briefs, fundraising considerations, lessons learned, etc.). ● Participate, as requested by management, in project activities (meetings, round tables, conferences, and other public activities) - including preparation, implementation, and follow-up. ● Ensure the mainstreaming of gender equality considerations throughout all work, promote a safe and enabling environment free from any kind of discrimination and abusive behavior, and uphold gender-responsive communications based on corporate principles. ● Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and UNDP Ukraine Leadership.
