Organization Background
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is an international non-governmental organiza-tion founded in 1933. IRC works in 28 countries providing relief, protection, and resettle-ment assistance to refugees and displaced populations. IRC was registered in Uganda in mid-1998 and implements rehabilitation activities in the sectors of Child and Youth Protec-tion and Development, Economic Recovery and Development, Health and Women Protec-tion and Empowerment. IRC Uganda has a head office in Kampala, field offices in Kitgum, Kiryandongo, Moroto, Yumbe, Imvepi, and Kyaka II
Re: BUiLD
The IKEA Foundation and the IRC have partnered to create Refugees in East Africa: Boosting Urban Innovations for Livelihoods Development (Re:BUiLD) – a multifaceted program that supports urban refugees and their host communities to achieve economic self-reliance and inspires evidence-based systemic change globally. Under the Evidence and Learning Pillar, Re:BUiLD is committed to gathering evidence and learning through testing with Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs), pilots, and monitoring to illustrate what works to improve urban livelihoods. 
Job Overview
The International Rescue Committee is seeking Re:Build Facilitators to work in Kampala on the second wave of the Re:BUiLD Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT). The facilitators will support the implementation of the Wave 2 RCT intervention that will commence in June 2024, business verification and monitoring visits targeting 4000+ eligible participants. Re:BUiLD, is a five-year, multi-stakeholder urban livelihoods program implemented in Kam-pala and Nairobi providing livelihood interventions to urban refugees and vulnerable host community members to enhance their economic self-reliance. The RCFs will be part of the Re:BUiLD project team under the IRC for a fixed period of time. 
Duties and Responsibilities  
The research facilitators will be expected to perform the following roles (not limited to).
•Conduct client information sessions, onboarding, and monitoring.
•Client mobilization for the weekly client group sessions
•Facilitating weekly client group sessions.
•Attending to RCT client’s inquiries.
•Business monitoring and verification and sharing of reports.
•Translation and transcription as required by the research team.
•To perform other duties as assigned and agreed upon with the supervisor. 

Qualifications

•Certificate or diploma, or final year undergraduate students in Social Sciences or Humanities. 
•Experience in community mobilization and facilitation. Data collection experience is an added advantage.
•Qualified urban refugees from all nationalities possessing a refugee ID are strongly encouraged to apply. 
•Experience working with vulnerable communities.
•Strong communication and report-writing skills.
•Flexible approach to the changing nature of work and ability to adapt to rapidly changing work demands and expectations. 
•Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multicultural team. 
•Computer skills, especially Ms. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
•Applicants able to communicate in Swahili, French, Oromo, Somali, Amharic, Arabic are encouraged to apply.
•All applicants should have a URA TIN. 
•Willingness to work in any of the following neighborhoods:  Makindye, Nakawa, Kawempe, Rubaga, Kampala Central.
•Ensure compliance with organizational performance standards, code of conduct, and safeguarding policy.
•Adhere to confidentiality procedures and policies when collecting, storing, and shar-ing data.
•Client attendance of weekly group sessions, debrief notes and status activity reports. 
•Business monitoring reports
