ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:

Digital technology and data are rapidly reaching some of the most vulnerable people and places affected by crisis, while also expanding operational approach to those same crises. As one of the main humanitarian actors, WFP has the opportunity and obligation to leverage data and technology to better know and serve those in need by digitally transforming the way it works. Such ambition has led to the developing a new WFP IT Strategy whose core elements inform the end-to-end business processes of the organization.

 

 

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Information Technology Digital Solution Delivery Branch (TECD) is responsible for overseeing all solution development activities within WFP, covering the entire technology stack and delivering enhancements to existing solutions. This function manages all aspects of development, ranging from understanding business requirements to designing and constructing solutions, and overseeing quality assurance.

The TECD ERP Products team is currently looking for a highly experienced and skilled Digital Solutions Analyst to fill a consultancy role with a focus on the Public Sector and Grants Management. The Digital Solution Analyst will be responsible for successfully managing projects related to this domain, in particular the WFP Corporate Critical Initiative aimed at integrating Salesforce with SAP Grants Management. Under the general supervision and guidance of the Head of Business Analysis, the incumbent will work with business units to gather, document and analyse requirements and define new or modified digital solutions to meet their needs. The Digital Solutions Analyst will be involved in the initiation, design and development phases of projects and may also support the application maintenance team during the implementation phase.

 

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use in-depth knowledge of business processes to lead and monitor the configuration, maintenance and optimisation of the SAP Public Sector, Grants Management, Project System and Funds Management modules. The main objective is to design IT solutions that meet user needs by identifying new opportunities, enhancements or integrations between different IT systems and tools.
  • Oversee the integration of corporate IT systems such as Salesforce and SAP within the assigned business area and work with business experts to achieve efficiencies both at the system level and across different business areas.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business process owners and process experts, establishing and driving partnerships to ensure the seamless delivery of IT solutions within the assigned business area.
  • Facilitate effective communication of business objectives, user needs and processes to ensure common understanding and alignment among stakeholders. This includes ensuring the timely availability and sharing of information with internal and external parties.
  • Lead and coordinate business analysis, functional and non-functional requirements, including identifying and anticipating needs, proposing IT solutions to improve business effectiveness and efficiency, discussing requirements and alternative solutions with business units, performing impact analysis on business context and IT systems, and documenting and classifying requirements and decisions for approval to ensure alignment of systems with business strategies.
  • Take the initiative to actively involve TEC and business stakeholders in proposing and prioritising process improvements. The aim is to improve WFP processes using digital technology.
  • Manage improvements and propose changes and continuous improvements for the ongoing support of WFP's IT systems within the assigned business area, performing quality assurance of designs and implementations proposed by the implementing partner.
  • Play a key role in formulating project cost and schedule estimates. You will also provide expert assistance in identifying and mitigating project risks to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide strategic change management advice for global rollout, including pilot testing and full rollout initiatives.
  • Leverage advanced product management expertise to conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify critical user needs and industry trends. Develop a comprehensive product vision, strategy and roadmap for leading edge ERP solutions. Work closely with stakeholders and users to actively solicit feedback, drive continuous product improvement and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Demonstrate sound project management expertise in formulating robust project plans, meticulous timelines and optimal resource allocation for complex ERP projects. Effectively orchestrate cross-functional teams, diligently monitor progress and proactively identify and mitigate potential risks. Maintain an unwavering commitment to enforcing adherence to project milestones, budgets and resource utilisation for successful project delivery.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • A clearly defined and documented set of requirements, perfectly aligned with the business vision and WFP's critical business initiatives. In addition, maintaining an up-to-date product roadmap that is seamlessly aligned with the business roadmaps and effectively addresses the needs of end users.
  • Achieve high levels of stakeholder, IT Solution Architect and development team satisfaction by demonstrating exemplary soft skills. These skills include effective communication, conflict management, strategic contributions to team success, exceptional leadership and more.
  • Regular communication and updates to project teams and business partners.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

  • University Degree in the following disciplines: Economics, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration or another related technical field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years progressively responsible professional experience as Business Analyst within an organization and proven record of accomplishment in development and implementation of IT applications. Experience in process orientation, process adherence, and process documentation creation.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Deep knowledge of SAP Grants Management, PS, FM and PSM modules.
  • Good understanding of SAP Solution Manager and related Change Request Management (ChaRM) processes is desirable.
  • IT Solution Development: Requirements, design, development, implementation
  • Business Analysis: Creation and review of business, functional and non-functional requirements for IT solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge and skills in product management (vision and product strategy), product backlog management (analyzing, creating, refining and prioritizing product backlog items), Agile Scrum and mainstream software design and development methodologies; ability to influence cross-functionally to manage projects in a matrix environment.
  • Experience of coordinating and managing multi-vendor projects and deliveries
  • Partnership skills, driving customer engagement, persuading and influencing business and TEC colleagues. Leadership skills, optimizing the use of resources and empowering team members to perform at their best.

Language:

Fluency in oral and written English with an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is desirable.
