- Design and conduct health promotion campaigns, as per approved annual plans at provincial levels, for different health programs especially Hygiene and sanitation;
- Conduct capacity building workshops for project staff at district level , health facility staff, and community leaders;
- Distribute communication materials to the target audiences;
- Develop media plan and conduct monitoring of media campaigns;
- Providing technical assistance to different health programs and departments in implementation of health promotion/health communication programs.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual activity reports;
- Any other assignment given by the health promotion director.WASH provincial plan developed and implemented.
- WASH intervention designed and implemented.
- WASH interventions are supervised and monitored on regular basis;
- Health promotion campaigns designed and implemented.
- Capacity building workshops/trainings conducted.
- Communication materials distributed.
- Media plan developed, implemented and monitored. Technical assistance to relevant departments of DoPH and other stakeholders provided.
- Annual, quarterly and monthly reports are prepared and submitted.
Minimum Qualification and Experience:
- The Provincial health promotion officershould have medical degree from a recognized institute
- At least four years of field experience in one of the WASH packages (water, sanitation or hygiene)
- Experience in CLTS and Family Health Action Groups is favourable
- Experience in working with community and community mobilization
- Familiarity with cultures of different Afghan communities
- Very good interpersonal communication skills
- Basic information regarding Afghanistan MoPH BPHS system
- Ability to implement hygiene and sanitation programs at the community level
- Must be computer literate and familiar with basic computer software including MS Office and internet use
- Ability to supervise and manage a team
- Must be able to communicate well in Pashto, Dari and English
- The both male and female candidates must have the ability to frequently visit communities
